If you are planning on having work done (or have already commenced works) we recommend that you check if the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 is applicable in your case.

The Act covers more than just carrying out works on the actual party wall itself. It includes:

Building on or at (upto) the boundary.
Work on an existing party wall or structure (including chimney breast removal, steels for loft conversions).
Excavation near to your neighbours property that is deeper than their foundation.
